Jenny Armstrong, M.S., LMHC, NCC
Iowa Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Hi, I am Jenny welcome to my page and let me introduce myself. I have my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis on Forensic Populations. I am independently licensed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with the State of Iowa. I have previous experience working with at-risk youth in the criminal justice and social services system. I became a therapist with a goal to intervene at early ages with children/youth who are at risk with the hopes to minimize long term behavioral issues that lead into criminal behavior. I currently work with children aged 8 and above and adults/couples/families who experience a variety of symptoms and real-life problems. Currently I am only accepting Tele-health clients.
When you book a session with me you should know that my approach is client based, I strive to meet you where you are with regards to your own needs and current situations- with a one size does not fit all mindset. I will draw from CBT, mindfulness and client centered approaches which I will incorporate both in and outside of session to tie what you are learning to your real-life experiences. I will teach you grounding techniques, introduce you to meditation and help you identify healthy communication and coping skills to assist you in learning to deal with everyday life struggles. Accountability is very important in therapy, the goal is to lead you to self-realization to assist you in learning to take control of your behaviors, thoughts and mood. Please let me know what I can assist you with in your life.
Jenny Armstrong is available for tele-health counseling sessions for Iowa clients.
